Cang Er Tuo is a Yunnan pressed special Tuocha produced by Yunnan Xiaguan Tuocha (Group) Co., Ltd. (formerly Yunnan Xiaguan Tea Factory). It was created in 1959 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. It is named after the beautiful natural scenery of Cangshan (苍山) and Erhai (洱海) Lake in Dali. It is a high-quality Tuocha that combines the long history and amazing flavor of Tuocha in Xiaguan. Starting in October 2000, Xiaguan Tea Factory resumed the production of this product in accordance with the selection of materials and processes in 1959. The packaging is mainly in the form of square boxes (there is also packaging in the form of round boxes after 2007), and the inner packaging is brown-yellow kraft paper. Due to the different main colors of the pattern in wrapper paper, there are "Red Cang (红苍)“ and "White Cang (白苍)” in the industry. However, the formula and quality of the two are the same.
Cang Er Tuo takes the tea leaves from Baoshan (宝山) and Simao (思茅) tea areas in Yunnan as the main raw material. It has been blended, sieved, steamed, kneaded, and pressed. Each Tuocha weighs 250 grams, has an outer diameter of 12.33 cm and a height of 5 cm. The appearance is tight and compressed. The aroma is fresh and long-lasting. The tea soup is orange-yellow and translucent. The taste is refreshing, and the steeped tea leaves are tender and bright.
